Titleists: 1) VCU, 2) George Mason

Michael Myers: 3) Dayton

They Got a Shot: 4) Loyola, 5) Joe's, 6) SLU

Dark Horses: 7) GW, 8) Bona

Upper Pillow: 9) Duquesne (ESCAPED), 10) Rhody, 11) Davidson, 12) UMass

Lower Pillow: 13) Richmond, 14) La Salle, 15) Fordham

As with last week there is not much movement in the tiers. VCU and George Mason clinched a share of the A10 Title with the Rams taking the top spot thanks to their far superior metrics and head-to-head victory. In fact, the Patriots seem to be somewhat on the downslope heading into the A10 Tournament but their body-of-work speaks for itself.

Dayton does take a big jump into their own tier. They have looked dead at times, including recently against Richmond (what a bad game) but when it's time for a big game the Flyers invariably show up, as evidenced by their huge road win at VCU to end the season. Their overall talent is second-to-none in the A10 (equal to VCU's), they just need to put in the performances.

Saint Joseph's lost a disappointing one in the most obvious trap game ever against La Salle but they still ended the season well and are very much in the mix heading into DC. Loyola did wrap up the all important double bye in what was ultimately an INCREDIBLE coaching job by Valentine.

Bona ended the season by eking out consecutive one possession wins over bad teams (UMass and Davidson) and head into the A10 tournament technically hot, winning 4-1 of their last 5 (even though none of those wins are exactly exciting). GW in a similar vein is 4-2 in their last 6 ( again, all of those wins came against bad teams). Both teams had successful even if not terribly amazing seasons. I could see either making a run in DC, I just can't see them winning it altogether.

Finally, Duquesne escaped the pillow fight but they're a pillow fight quality team (albeit much more dangerous if healthy and on the right day). Davidson gets to escape the lower pillow fight because of their overall body-of-work and wins against Duquesne and UMass, but this was not a successful season and things are trending down. Do not be surprised if Richmond beats Davidson in the early pillow fight game.

The bottom 3 is the bottom 3. It was nice for La Salle to let Philly Fran Dunphy end his regular season career with another Philly 5 win but that doesn't change their overall season.

An Ode to Matt Ball

Since taking over as Head Coach, it has been clear that Matt McKillop wanted his teams to play a different style than Bob McKillop's. Same motion offense, same pack line defense, same first principles
